Get Involved with NAMI educational or volunteer opportunities:

The regular meetings of NAMI Pensacola are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. The second Thursday meetings are from 6:00-7:30PM, and are held at Lakeview Center, Bldg I, 1995 North H Street (Hernandez and H streets). The fourth Thursday meetings are from 6:00-7:30PM. These are an educational forum, held at The Pavilion at West Florida Hospital, 2191 E Johnson Avenue (corner of Johnson & N Davis). See the Events page for meetings.

Family-to-Family Course

Family-to-Family is a free, twelve-week course for family and friends of individuals with mental thumbnail of NAMI Family to Family Flyerillness, to assist them in care-giving, coping and problem-solving.The course is taught by trained family members. All instruction and course materials are free to class participants. Class topics include the following:

  • schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder (manic depression), panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, and co-occurring brain disorders and addictive disorders
  • Current research related to brain disorders and the evidence-based, most effective treatments to promote recovery
  • Up-to-date information about medications, side effects, and strategies for medication adherence
  • Acquiring strategies for handling crises and relapse
  • Coping with worry, stress, and emotional overload
  • Guidance on locating appropriate supports and services within the community
